Caffeine Intolerance?

Over the past few months I have been doing a test with my body. I think, I am ready to announce the results.

I don’t remember if I posted anything about this, but, in September 2018 I hit an all-time low. I physically could not get out of bed. The doctor signed me out of my life on burn-out. Where for two weeks I just skated 20 mins a day and went from doctor-to-doctor.

After, one doctor suggested I cut back on caffeine. Originally I thought, how could I? Coffee was my life.

Ever since I remember, I was always drinking at least one cup of coffee a day. And even closer to this burnout I was just devouring espressos while working.

The first few days were rough. I was crabby as hell. I did not want to talk to anyone or do anything and basically told every single person off.

But then, I started noticing my energy was coming back. I was no longer taking 3 hour naps in my car after one event and missing the next few events I had on my list.

Now, I work in a coffee shop. After a few weeks of trying no coffee, I decided to go for it and have another cup. My shift could not end soon enough. Between the stomach cramps and the pure exhaustion I regretted that decision. That night, I went to the rink and took an hour nap before I carelessly drove home.

When I got home, I slept so much that I called into work the next day and ended up missing.

Since that moment. I have not had any coffee. (Currently) it has been 7 months without a sip. And I feel amazing. There is no flareups. I do get tired but resting helps the tiredness. It does not feel as permanent.

I don’t know when the intolerance started or why it started. It is still a game I am playing with my body to find out more information about.

The other day I took a decaf coffee (that I made) and know 100% it was decaf and it was affecting me like regular coffee did. So I am just going to stick to caffeine free tea.

Anybody else have this problem?
