06/17/19 – As you know, I saw an allergist today.
For a follow-up on that appointment you can click here.
But summary, I was diagnosed with Chronic Urticaria.
So what is Chronic Urticaria?
- When your skin breaks out in hives (red/bumpy/patchy skin).
There is no real known cause. Some say it could be an allergic reaction to something that happens to your body, some other times there could be no explanation.
Symptoms include: Blotchy skin, Red skin, burning skin and tiredness.
They can appear on all parts of the body and appear in all sorts of sizes from just a small dot to a larger amount.
Some causes from it are;
- Pain medications
- Insects or parasites
- Infection
- Scratching
- Heat or cold
- Stress
- Sunlight
- Exercise
- Alcohol or food
- Pressure on the skin, as from a tight waistband
Another reason can be stress. The more stress you are the more prone to symptoms you could be.
Some foods could trigger the symptoms as well and others can make the symptoms worse.
Coffee is one of the ones that can be a trigger. Which is ironic because a few months ago I realized I have an allergy/intolerance to caffeine.
